I am a working Mother of 4 and 3 years ago, after the birth of my last child I started experiencing itching of the scalp in the centre of head coupled with thinning around the hairline.

Despite several consultations with my Doctor, blood tests and a visit to a London dietician, who recommended changes to my diet to improve hair and scalp conditions, no one could give me a reason for this sudden change or when or if it was likely to improve. This sudden hair loss had a big effect on my confidence, I was reluctant to go out socially until the condition improved. I started experimenting with different shampoos for my scalp but they were actually drying my hair out. I resorted to wearing my hair Afro to make it look like my hair was thicker than it was, or combing my hair to conceal the thin areas however this was not ideal for work. I had been wearing my hair natural for at least 15 years so couldn't understand why this had happened. What was worse was I was on maternity leave and didn't want to have to resort to wearing a wig back to work. I felt it would look so obviously fake and I was already feeling self conscious. I have never been into wearing hats let alone wearing something on my head constantly.

I contacted a consultant in London who wanted to charge me before she even saw me and then insisted I bought only her products to help improve my problem the total cost was over £100.

Luckily my itchy scalp did improve but I am still left with thinning in my crown, along my hairline and some receding. During a visit to Belle Hair for a regularly wash and style a half weave was suggested. Natural hairpieces were added to my thinner areas to add more body.

The result was excellent.

Just enough hair was added to give me back 80% of my original thickness, comparing this with old photos made me realise just how much hair I had lost and what I had regained from the process.
Not that only the colour match was exact. I am more than pleased with the results, I have received nothing but compliments since having the weave put in and surprisingly the amount of hair is so
subtle some actually think all the hair is mine!

I will definitely continue with this process, I find it is easy to maintain it fits in with my busy lifestyle and gives me a glamorous look.....what more can I ask for?
